The United Co-op

The Brief:
Since 2006, pgk has become a strategic partner for The United Co-op, helping to deliver various key marketing programmes across a range of services. This particular campaign for Co-op Property division involved advertising, website design and hosting.

The Co-op Property division seeks to buy commercial property to aid the expansion of The United Co-op. To do this it negotiates with landlords and commercial estate agents to secure the right space in the right places.

Sadly the brand is often confused with The Co-op in Manchester, and The United Co-op needed to raise its profile and get landlords and estate agents calling them at their head office in Stoke.

The Approach:
pgk needed to raise brand awareness with eye catching and impactful advertising and a direct mail campaign. A key networking event, At the Races, was organised and advertising and DM tied in with this, sending out binoculars to all recipients inviting them to attend the event.

A website was built to attract input from landlords and commercial estate agents, detailing how they can help and relevant case studies.
An advertising campaign in relevant trade and business media ran, along with direct mail pieces sent to key estate agents across the UK.

The Results:
The United Co-op said that this was a “very successful campaign” which not only got them talking to commercial estate agents and landlords which they had never spoken to before, but also opened up new areas in the UK for possible outlets.
